Northern Cardinal

This bold, conspicuous bird is a familiar site at winter birdfeeders throughout eastern Canada, and is distinguished by bright red plumage of the male and the red crest, wings and tail of the female. Although northern cardinals do not migrate, their range has expanded northward over the past few decades.
