Merlin

Falco columbarius

Adult male merlins are grey, in contrast to the brown feathers of the female, who is also larger. This bird of prey is smaller than most other falcons, and can be distinguished by its banded tail feathers and lack of obvious facial stripes. Merlins live in a variety of habitats across Canada, and prey upon smaller birds. "
