Manx shearwater

Puffinus puffinus

The Manx shearwater spends much of its life in the open ocean. It feeds on a wide variety of small fish and crustaceans. It is a medium sized bird which is of occasional occurrence along both Canadian coasts. There is one subspecies in Canada, subspecies opisthomelas.
