Illinois Tick Trefoil

Desmodium Illinoense

The Illinois tick trefoil does not grow in Canada anymore, but it was once found in tall prairie areas of southwestern Ontario. It was a perennial herb with explosive blossoms. Loss of habitat is the main cause for the extirpation of this species from Canada.
