Giant Helleborine

Epipactis gigantea

The giant helleborine is an orchid that occurs in British Columbia. It requires a moist habitat and as such is usually found around springs or lakeshores. Because of its narrow habitat requirements, the giant helleborine is threatened by any commercial development of surounding waterfronts. It is protected from international trade under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
