Hadley Lake Stickleback

Gasterosteus sp.

This unique species was restricted to Hadley Lake on Lasqueti Island, British Columbia, in the Strait of Georgia. There were two varieties of the Hadley Lake stickelback: benthic and limnetic. First discovered in the late 1980s, the Hadley Lake stickleback became extinct following an unauthorized introduction of catfish.
